Where to vote?

When to vote?



Vote Day

Voters must vote at their designated voting station on Vote Day. Voting stations will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Vote Day

Who can vote?

You are eligible to vote if you:

  • Are at least 18 year old; and
  • Are a Canadian citizen; and
  • Have resided in Alberta since May 13, 2018; and
  • Are a resident of the City of Calgary on Vote Day;
  • Provide one of the authorized pieces of identification

You are eligible to vote if you are a student who:

  • Attends an educational institution within or, outside Alberta;
  • Temporarily rents accommodation for the purpose of attending an educational institution; and
  • Has family members who are resident in Alberta and with whom the student ordinarily resides when not attending an educational institution, is deemed to be a resident.

Mail-in ballot requests

You may request a mail-in ballot if you are unable to vote during the Advance Vote or on Vote Day because:

  • of physical incapacity; or
  • you are absent from the city; or
  • you are working Vote Day as an vote worker or volunteering/working on a campaign.

If you are unable to submit your request online, applications for a mail-in ballot (special ballot) can also be made by:

  • by calling 403-476-4100;
  • by faxing 403-476-4101;
  • in-person at the Elections & Census O ce, 1103 Ave E, Calgary

Deadline to request mail-in ballots:

Requests for mail-in ballots must be received by noon on November 13, 2018.
